ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE
Valley Forge's English Language Institute (ELI) allows international students to get an important jump-start on the academic program. Through ELI, students gain confidence in their language skills and receive significant exposure to American culture. The ELI has worked with students from more than 45 different countries since it was founded in 1973.

ELI courses emphasize oral language training, including speaking and listening comprehension. Practice in reading, writing and grammar at all levels is also provided. Within ELI, you will be learning about character development and leadership - two of Valley Forge's cornerstones. As an ELI student, you will also learn about cadet life, which can help you make a successful transition from the program to Valley Forge's Corps of Cadets.

The English Language Institute offers courses in basic to advanced levels of English language proficiency. As a student in the Institute, you are immersed in English language study for approximately 20 hours each week, Monday through Friday. In addition, you may participate in athletics, supervised study halls, and other opportunities that help you learn about being successful as a Valley Forge cadet.

FORGE FACTS
To apply for the English Language Institute, submit your admissions application and fee, along with translated copies of previous grades, exams and diplomas. The cost of tuition and expenses for the five-week English Language Institute is $3,300, which includes room and board, books and a personal allowance.
