PAST EVENTS
George Washington Regiment
hosts Charity Polo Match
June 19
It was a proud day for Valley Forge, a great day for
polo, and the premier day of the first ever annual Courage Cup.
With over 1,000 spectators in attendance, the George Washington
Regiment hosted its most successful event to date. Sponsors
included the Madison Hotel, Oasis Winery, Michelob Ultra, Coyote
Ugly, the Redskins Cheerleaders, Innovative Construction Group,
the Hudson Family, the Amini Family, the Curran Family, El
Gaucho, and Exceed Development. The Courage Cup, a Charity Polo
Match held at Poolesville, Maryland, was used to raise funds for
Valley Forge Polo, VFMA&C, and Work-To-Ride, a non-profit
equestrian rider program. There were many alumni in attendance,
and representatives from Valley Forge's staff, including Admiral
and Mrs. Long, enjoyed the great sport of polo. Media sources
including Society Magazine, Washington Life, NBC, and Sports
Illustrated covered the event.
