APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS and PROCEDURES

Several steps must be taken in order to apply for admission to VFMA&C. The following is a list of these requirements and procedures for international students:

  1. Application Form - Applicant must answer all sections.
    • Underline your family name.
    • Be sure to indicate your date of birth.
    • College applicants must indicate their intended major.
    • Indicate name of nearest relative or friend in the U.S. (if applicable), and your visa status (if you are presently in the U.S.).
  2. Application Fee - Submit the USD Application Fee by Credit Card or Money Order:
    • College: $25.00
    • Academy $100.00
  3. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) -- As part of the College Admissions Application Process, international students must submit scores from the TOEFL examination to VFMA&C (CEEB code #2955). The minimum acceptable score for Conditional Admissions is 500. Academy applicants are not required to submit to this test. For more information on this test, visit the TOEFL web site at www.toefl.org.
  4. Official Transcripts or Mark Sheets from High School or Secondary School
    • Transcripts must be translated into English.
    • Transcripts should include subjects studied, grades earned, examinations passed, and dates that diplomas, certificates or degrees were earned.
    • A brief description of the subjects studied and a description of the grading system should also be included.
  5. Official Transcripts from a College or University - (follow directions from #4, A & B)
  6. Bank Statement - Applicant must supply a letter from the bank the family uses that attests to the ability of the family to cover the cost of education in the U.S. All financial statements must be converted to U.S. dollars. Documentary evidence of sufficient funds for college and living expenses in the U.S. is mandatory.
  7. International Student Request Form - This form is provided by VFMA&C and must be filled out in detail and returned.
  8. Copy of Passport - A copy of the first page of the passport of the applicant is required.

Notification of Acceptance
VFMA&C will acknowledge receipt of your application. If we need more information, we will inform you of that as well. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide any additional information that we request in order to complete the application process. You will be notified of the status of your application within approximately ten days of our receipt of the complete application.

Deadlines for Application:   
Deadline for applying to the College for Spring 2005:      14 November 2004
Deadline for applying to the College for Fall 2004:           16 July 2004

Deadline for applying to the Academy for Spring 2005:    5 December 2004
Deadline for applying to the Academy for Fall 2004:        23 July 2004
