ACADEMICS
Valley Forge provides an intense and individualized learning experience. With a low
student-teacher ratio and very small classes, personal attention is assured. Outstanding
Teachers
Valley Forge instructors do much more than teach. They mold and mentor, challenge and
change. Highly qualified professionals whose passion is teaching, they could work anywhere
in the country. They choose to stay at Valley Forge (some for more than 40 years!) because
they love interacting with students like your son.
Academic
Program
All Valley Forge cadets benefit from a well-rounded curriculum. Middle and high school
students complete a comprehensive curriculum with courses in college preparatory subjects
(history, English, mathematics, science, foreign languages, etc.) and also develop skills
in areas such as military science and social etiquette. College students pursue a general
education core curriculum that includes a strong liberal arts foundation and provides
extensive transfer options.
Support Services
Because we encourage and expect your son to do his best work, we require attendance at
faculty-supervised study halls five nights a week. Valley Forge also provides a full range
of academic support services, including faculty advisors, a Writing Center, and the Cadet
Achievement Center, which is staffed with professional counselors to help students realize
their maximum potential.
Guidance
The
Academy Guidance Department gives continual assistance and counseling to each cadet. The department follows
each cadet's academic progress and keeps in close contact with parents. College
orientation begins in the junior year, and continues throughout the
cadet's residence.
College orientation sessions cover college selection, nomination to service academies,
financial aid in the Army ROTC program, and contacts with college placement
representatives. College test requirements are reviewed, and cadets are counseled in
college application preparation and interview procedures.
College Transfer Arrangements
Transfer of academic credits and completion of the baccalaureate degree is facilitated by
established relationships with a number of outstanding colleges and universities.
