Academic Clubs
Academic clubs allow your son to explore favorite subjects in greater detail by planning
field trips, guest speakers, and other activities that bring disciplines to life, foster
interaction with faculty, and help establish professional networks.
Extracurricular Activities
Valley Forge offers more than 30 different organizations, including the Boy Scouts, the
Business Club, JROTC Drill Team, The Legionnaire (cadet newspaper), Mask & Spur (drama), the Ruben Dario
Society (Spanish club), musical opportunities such as Field
Music and the Regimental Band and
Choir,
and various branches of ROTC.
Athletic Tradition
Valley Forge
boasts a strong athletic tradition, including championship programs in a number of sports
and unique offerings in equestrian-polo and show jumping. We offer
athletic
scholarships and
encourage cadet participation at all levels of our athletic programs. Football, soccer
and cross country top the list of fall sports offered
within both the Academy and College.
We provide many options - including interscholastic varsity and junior varsity
competition, intramural sports, and individual workouts - that allow your son to channel
his energy, stay fit, and learn valuable qualities, like teamwork, motivation, and good
sportsmanship, associated with athletic participation.
Religious Life
The Sunday Chapel Service is central to cadet life at VFMA&C. While Christian in
format, the service is nondenominational and features guest speakers who address values
and character
development.
In addition to the weekly Sunday morning service on campus, Protestant cadets may
attend an Episcopal Eucharist Service in our Chapel on Wednesdays at noon. For Catholic
cadets, Mass is celebrated in the Chapel on Sunday afternoons at 5 p.m. Arrangements are
also made for Catholic, Muslim and Jewish cadets to observe holy days at Valley Forge or
at an appropriate, nearby location. VFMA&C provides transportation.
The R. Michael Arnovitz chapter of the Jewish fellowship group meets on campus weekly.
A Christian fellowship group, a Catholic fellowship group, a Muslim fellowship group and a
Newman Club for Catholic college cadets also meet regularly.
