Starting out as an editor and technical writer, I had always wanted to write creatively. When I took the job at Valley Forge Military Academy & College, I welcomed the opportunities that arose for me to write stories for the News area of the website. This became a regular task of mine, and I soon started writing faculty profiles, articles for the VFMAC magazine and press releases.

In 2002, I started writing feature articles for NEWS-Line Communications, Inc. on a freelance basis. The editor emailed me an assignment, I conducted a telephone interview with the subject and then wrote the article, which could be anywhere from 1800-2000 words. I did this for over six years.
